Two programs at UT Medical Center received a prestigious award Friday morning.
The American Heart Association awarded UT's stroke and heart failure programs the 'Gold Plus Award'.
The association recognizes programs that provide a high quality standard of car. It also means that UT's programs are among the best in the country.
But it doesn't stop here; UT Medical says they continue to strive to provide excellent care.
"We're always on the journey to get better. Our goals are to continue to achieve these results, but to surpass this on a consistent basis and to continue to receive this award, and we'll work on it again every year," said Teresa Levey, vice president of the Heart Lung Vasular Institute.
The award is part of an American Heart Association sponsored program called 'Get With The Guidelines.'
