Hoda and Kathie Lee talk with Erin Donovan
It was a scene over at the University of Tennessee Monday morning. The lawn of Ayers Hall had been transformed into a television wonderland, albeit a damp and soggy wonderland of orange.
People from all over came down to campus to be a part of the TODAY show. Kathie Lee and Hoda did not disappoint! From the moment they came toward us, Hoda was being sassy and shaking her orange and white pom poms right into the camera lens.
They ran over and chatted with our morning crew and then they headed over to talk with Chattanooga's NBC affiliate. All of a sudden, the NBC folks that get the women from place to place making sure that everything stays on pace realized the ladies had somewhere else they had to be, so off they went and Megan told us they'd be back.
Bless this woman for having to deal with all of us, today she shall be called "Super NBC Megan" just because sometimes it's nice to have someone call you super.
So then the ladies came back over and we got our chance to talk to them, only after the caterwauling ladies got their picture taken. They were actually hysterical. I won't name names, but they have the biggest foam hand I have ever seen in my life.
I cannot tell you how nice the ladies are in person. You never know what you are going to get, but honestly they are hilarious together and seem to enjoy each other and the people they are talking to.
After we chatted with KLG and Hoda, they were off. Back into the building, maybe just to warm up a little.
Just chatting with people and seeing the lights did bring some excitement to a lot of people. Signs were everywhere. Rocky Top played at least 100 times. It was a crazy scene, and then when the ladies got ready and started singing along with the Pride of the Southland Band, well, I'll say it was cool.
It was the second time in a few weeks national TV was right here on our campus.
