Oak Ridge Boys honored at Dollywood

The Oak Ridge Boys accepted the Southern Gospel Music Association's James D. Vaughan Impact Award on October 3 during a special ceremony at Dollywood.

 The award, named for Southern Gospel Music Pioneer James D. Vaughan, was presented to the Oak Ridge Boys on the same day as the Southern Gospel Music Association's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Singing News Fan Awards at Dollywood.

   The vocal group dates back to World War II and the orginal Oak Ridge Boys Quartet that was based in Knoxville.

     The current line up has  won Grammy, Dove, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Awards since 1973.

Dollywood's Wild Eagle coaster also celebrated their one millionth rider.

 Dollywood's Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration runs through November 3.
