You can see the Great Blue Heron nests in the tree behind the pedestrian bridge in Alcoa.
For the second year, Great Blue Heron nests are catching attention near the new pedestrian bridge in Alcoa on Alcoa Highway.
Last year, bird lovers counted eight pair of Blue Herons taking up residency in one tree.
This Winter, four pair of Blue Herons have returned to the same spot.
Knoxville Zoo's bird curator said the location of the nests is odd. Great Blue Herons usually pick islands or quiet wooded areas to lay their eggs.
LiveAtFiveAtFour's Stoney Sharp visited the oddly located avian abodes Tuesday.
