 "CTE Goes Live"

Knox County Schools Career Technical Education (CTE) program is hosting its third annual "CTE goes Live" at 7:45 p.m. Friday, April 19 from Market Square. The audience can text their votes immediately after the live event and the winner will receive a complimentary trip to Nashville to professionally record a song at Nash10 Studio. 

The audience can cast their votes by texting assigned codes to 22333 at the end of the show which will count for 10-percent of votes.

If you are unable to attend CTE goes Live on Market Square, you can listen live on WKCS Radio 91.1 FM, East Tennessee's only high school radio station.

Knox County EarthFest

EarthFest 2013

10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Pellissippi State Community College
Main Campus- Hardin Valley. 

 As always, EarthFest is a free, zero-waste event with educational exhibits, kids' activities, food and entertainment for the whole family, including pets.

Along with over a hundred exhibitors and attractions, attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in an EarthFest educational scavenger hunt. Participants will get their scavenger hunt player's card stamped as they answer questions at select vendor booths around the festival. Once completed, participants will be entered to win a grand prize and other giveaways going on every hour.

Other on-site events at EarthFest will include: a plastic bag exchange, disc golf course, Medic blood drive, fuel-efficient car showcase, mercury thermometer exchange, meet-and-greet envirocharacter exhibit and youth learning area. In the youth area there will be lots of free, interactive activities for kids to learn about going green. These will include making totes out of re-purposed t-shirts, creating planters out of newspaper, decorating pet rocks and crafting clothespin magnets.
