(Knoxville-WBIR) Some Knox County fifth graders have been busy raising money before summer break.  The cash won't directly benefit them or their school.  All of the money is going to students in Sierra Leone in Africa.

Teacher Jordan Haney's class at Rocky Hill Elementary had a Buddy Band sale.  The students braided a bunch of bracelets.  They also purchased some rubber bracelets to add to the mix.

The fifth graders raised more than $1,300 off of the bands for the class in Africa.  Much of the money will buy a computer for the kids in Sierra Leone.  The rest of the change will be donated to the Fish Pantry.

Haney is looking for a cheap way to get the nice computer to Africa.  If you know of a group visiting that area this season, Haney asks you call Rocky Hill Elementary.
