In West Knoxville at the Knoxville Christian Center, members got to hear a famous Christian singer at their service Sunday.
Carman, a singer and minister of Carman World Outreach, performed. Carman has had hit records and sellout shows and Sunday, thousands packed the congregation at the Knoxville Christian Church to hear him perform.
Carman says Christian music sales have gone down but says there's still a strong value to Christian music.
"Whether somebody agrees to it or likes it or hates it, people want to hear music that has a certain message to it, a clear message," he said.
Carman performed at Thompson-Boling Arena in 1990 and 1994 where he says 25,000 people packed the stands.
