Tuesday, we told you about the Color Me Rad 5K and where money raised from the race in Knoxville goes. The for-profit company includes on all promotional material distributed in Knoxville, "A portion of all proceeds to benefit the East Tennessee Children's Hospital."
After crunching data from Color Me Rad, we found 6 percent of money raised at the race went to the hospital.
Color Me Rad did nothing wrong or illegal, but we have had a lot of reaction to that story.
Color Me Rad is a for-profit organization, but we wanted to bring in somebody who can give us some tips on ways to know at least among non-profits what to look for so your money goes to help the most people.
