Not negotiating a job offer often means many workers are leaving money on the table.
A new Career Builder survey finds 45 percent of employers are willing to negotiate first offers, but almost half of workers accept the first offer given to them. Career Builder is owned by WBIR's parent company, Gannett.
Who is most likely to negotiate depends on certain factors. Fifty-five percent of workers 35 or older typically negotiate the first offer, compared to 45-percent of workers ages 18 to 34. And Men are more likely than women to negotiate first offers.
