Popular California-based restaurant chain Cheesecake Factory is finalizing plans for a location in West Knoxville.
In documents submitted to the Metropolitan Planning Commission, West Town Mall owner Simon Property Group describes a 7,500 square foot restaurant on the Morrell Road side of the mall between the JC Penney store and the Belk Women store.
"We are currently in discussions with Simon Malls regarding a location in Knoxville, and look forward to signing our lease soon,"
Alethea Rowe, Cheesecake Factory's Senior Director for Public Relations, told 10News in a statement Thursday.
"Our restaurant development team is always on the lookout for great sites," Rowe said.
The proposal showed the restaurant would be built adjacent to the mall.
It would require moving part of the main driveway around the mall on its east side and would result in the loss of some parking spaces.
