  • - A A A + is reporting that Vols wide receivers coach Kippy Brown is headed back to the NFL. Vols quarterbacks coach David Reaves and offensive line coach James Cregg are also no longer on the staff.

Brown has accepted a job as the Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach, where he will work under former USC head coach Pete Carroll.

After Lane Kiffin left for USC, Brown filled in as interim head coach.  Brown believed he was legitimate candidate for the Tennessee head coaching job, but the position was given to Louisiana Tech's Derek Dooley.

Brown joined the Tennessee coaching staff in mid-December and was on the sidelines for the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Before coming to Rocky Top, Brown was the assistant head coach for the Detroit Lions.

It is not clear where Reaves and Cregg are going after Tennessee. Reaves is Lane Kiffin's brother-in-law and came to Tennessee after seven season at South Carolina.

Cregg came to Tennessee from the Oakland Raiders where he spent two season as the offensive line assistant coach.
