Several East Tennessee law enforcement agencies came together Monday to round up more than 100 people indicted on drug charges, with the bulk of them being related to prescription drugs from Florida.
Operation Cooperation began around 7:00 a.m. Monday and is continuing into the day.
The indictments include charges for crack cocaine, mushrooms, marijuana, but most are for prescription drugs.
Many of the drugs were coming into Tennessee from Florida--authorities said prescriptions written in Tennessee were being filled in Florida.
As of the noon hour, 24 people had been arrested. Bonds for those arrested have been preset at $10,000, with some bonds being set higher.
Authorities expect to seize 12 vehicles and a substantial amount of illegal drugs throughout the day.
In all, there were 114 indictments.
The operation includes the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office, Tazewell and New Tazewell police departments, the TBI, the FBI, and other members of the 8th Judicial Drug Task Force.
Three incidents of drug buying took place near schools in Claiborne County.
