The Vols have a new addition to their depleted offensive line.

Volquest.com is reporting that Darin Gooch, the 305 pound, 6-foot-2 center, visited Knoxville earlier this week and made if official on Saturday.

Gooch is transferring from Butte Junior College in California.  He has four years to play three seasons. He is going to move to Knoxville in the next couple days and start taking classes during the first summer school session.

Gooch told Volquest.com, "I really got along with the coaches and I liked them," Gooch said. "You've got to have good ties with the coaches if you're going to be able to play for them for 3 or 4 years.

"Really, I had no idea this was going to happen. The last 48 hours have been pretty crazy as far as getting all the paperwork and stuff in," said Gooch, who wrestled at the 215 weight class his final year of high school. "I was not expecting it to happen this quickly. Two weeks ago I didn't even know Tennessee was in need of a center and in need of me. It gives you a little bit of an idea of how fast this happened."
