Anderson County Schools announced on Thursday exactly when schools will open each day during the 2010-2011 school year.
The school board approved a delay in the start of the school day in May.
Until now, Anderson County students have gone to school earlier than other students in East Tennessee.
School day start times will range from 8:05a.m. to 8:45a.m., with older
students starting class later in the morning.
Following are the opening, start and end times for each school:
- Elementary school buildings will open at 7:15 a.m. with classes from 8:05 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.
- Lake City, Norris, and Norwood middle schools will open at 7:25 a.m. with classes from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Clinton Middle School and Anderson County High School will open at 7:45 a.m. with classes from 8:35 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- Clinton High School will open at 7:55 a.m. with classes from 8:45 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.
In a news release, Director of Schools Larry Foster said buses will run 40 minutes later than last year. Breakfast will be served beginning 30 minutes before classes start.
Student registration is Wednesday, August 4, and classes will begin on Monday, August 9.
