If you've ever spent much time at the Market Square Farmer's Market, chances are you've been offered some buttermilk from the Cruze Farm Girls.
Now, the local dairy farm is getting some national press for the old southern staple.
This week, The New York Times featured Cruze Dairy Farm in an article about bringing back buttermilk.
Cruze Farm says it hopes the national attention helps to draw attention to a local fall tradition.
"We're really excited right now. We're planning for our corn maze. We hope it brings more people to our corn maze, which starts at the end of the month, and we'll have buttermilk here and buttermilk ice cream. It's just delicious to drink. You can't go wrong with buttermilk," said Colleen Cruze.
Cruze Dairy Farm produces between 300 and 400 gallons of buttermilk each week.
