With election day less than 48 hours away, republicans and democrats in East Tennessee are doing whatever they can to persuade any remaining undecided voters.

The Knox County Republicans spent much of Sunday preparing for Election Day on Tuesday.

"There's definitely a lot of energy this year," said Jacob Swisher, campaign coordinator for Sen. Becky Duncan Massey.

According to Alexander Waters, the Knox County campaign director for Mitt Romney, republicans have been making 4,000 calls a week in support of GOP candidates like Mitt Romney.

"Since the end of August, we've been making calls to Ohio and Virginia, and lots of people have been calling from home," Waters said.

But, republicans aren't the only ones busy in East Tennessee on the heels of Election Day. Democrats are also doing what they can to get voters to the polls.

Obama supporter Rebecca Ferrar has traveled to North Carolina four times in an attempt to swing voters into the President's column come the November 6 election.

She told 10News every vote counts.

"We know that Tennessee is a red state and we're not going to win Tennessee, but North Carolina is a battleground state and it's crucial that we win North Carolina," Ferrar said.

So far, Tennesseans living in zip codes that start with 3, 7, and 9 have donated more money to presidential candidates in 2012 than they did in 2008, according to the Federal Election Commission.
