Tennessee along with three dozen other states have reached a multi-million dollar settlement with the maker of the popular diabetes drug Avandia.

The $90 million deal resolves allegations that the U.K.'s biggest drug maker used deceptive practices in promoting the drug.

A U.S. Senate committee report links Avandia to tens of thousands of heart attacks. It also found the company knew about the cardiovascular risks for years, but worked to keep them secret.
