Animal rescue officials removed 65 dogs from a suspected dog-fighting ring outside Nashville. Firefighters found the dogs, mostly pit bulls and beagles, chained and malnourished while responding to a brush fire Thanksgiving night.

Animal control officials identified dog-fighting equipment, including a treadmill, fighting pen and a spring pole used for strengthening dogs' jaws.

The Animal Rescue Corps says this could be the largest dog-fighting rescue in Tennessee history.

The dogs are now at an emergency shelter. Most will need extensive rehabilitation before they can be adopted.
