We're checking up on 65 dogs who were saved from a suspected dog fighting ring.
Firefighters outside of Nashville found the dogs when they went to put out a brush fire on the property on Thanksgiving Day. They found the animals malnourished and chained up. The dogs were in need of medicine and food, but are now recovering in the care of animal rescues.
"These dogs are really sweet towards people but they have been driven to want to fight each other. So it's sad, but it's also rewarding to know that we got them out of there," said Amy Havestick with New Leash on Life.
Their daily care and medical needs are being met by Animal Rescue Corps until the dogs can be assessed for placement and sent to partners around the country.
