Two people face charges in a child abuse case

City of Alcoa police have charged a Louisville man and a Luttrell woman in a child sex abuse case.

Nicholas James Orchid, 27, of Louisville and Kristi Lonetta Lundin, 30, of Luttrell were arrested Thursday evening after an investigation uncovered evidence of rape and aggravated sexual battery of a young child.

Orchid initially denied these allegations, but during a polygraph, he confessed to having unlawful physical contact with the child on at least one occasion.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Orchid's home at Lakeview Apartments in Blount County. According to a press release, investigators are still searching the residence and collecting forensic evidence.

During the investigation, detectives also linked and charged Kristi Lonetta Lundin with crimes against the child.

City of Alcoa police charged Orchid with rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery. Orchid is in custody in the Blount County Jail under a $125,000 bond.

Authorities charged Lundin with facilitation of aggravated sexual battery and failure to report child sexual abuse. She is being held on bonds totaling $55,000.

Orchid and Lundin are scheduled to appear in Blount County General Sessions Court on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 9 a.m.
