A 7-year-old Middle Tennessee boy is home safe after someone stole his mother's car while he was inside.
Sharonda Belvin says her son Cornelius was feeling under the weather. So, she went to pick up some medicine at the store, and left him sitting in t he running car.
When she returned, Cornelius and the car were gone.
Luckily, Belvin's panic didn't last long. Minutes later, a woman found the boy outside a Walmart gas station, and helped him find his mom.
The 7-year-old was able to lead police to his kidnapper.
"What he told us is he needed money to take care of previous charges, and that's why he stole the car, and the thing is when he saw that child in the vehicle, he panicked. He just freaked out. This could have been a whole lot worse," said Jim Knoll with the Clarksville police.
The suspect, 20-year-old Willie Cole, is charged with theft and kidnapping.
