A lawyer who once represented one of the Houston brothers now has control of their estate.

James Logan represented Leon Houston in his first-degree murder case. Both Rocky and Leon Houston faced murder charges for the death of a Roane County deputy following a shootout in 2006. They were charged but never convicted.

In 2009, the Houston family signed a deed of trust on four tracts of land to help cover Logan's attorney fees and expenses. Logan eventually bought three tracts in a foreclosure sale.

In January, Logan filed a lawsuit against the brothers, asking to be named administrator of their father, Clifford Clyde Houston's estate. He said they still owed him up to $100,000.

Logan wanted to take control of the estate and take down some controversial posters. Those posters showed bloody crime scene photos of the 2006 shootout.

Rocky and Leon Houston both face federal firearms charges.
