Over the next few days, thousands of UT students will celebrate years of hard work and achievement as they walk across the stage at graduation.

And for eight students, it's an opportunity many never thought possible.

UT's FUTure program celebrated the graduation of its inaugural class on Wednesday.

The two year program offers students with intellectual disabilities the chance to go to college.

The goal is to bridge the gap between high school and a job.

The FUTure students have classes designed just for them, but they also audit one academic and one physical education class.

They also get plenty of help from student mentors, who attend classes and social and sporting events with them.

It's the third such program in the state, and one of only 250 in the country.
