A former Gatlinburg pastor accused of stealing from his congregation is now facing formal charges.
The Sevier County Sheriff's Office arrested 65-year-old Ronald Lukat Thursday. He is the former pastor of Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church.
The church's daycare was forced to shut down back in February. A police report then showed Lukat admitted to officers that he failed to pay state or federal taxes on the daycare.
The church said at the time that added up to more than $40,000.
