Knox County remains at the top of the list for low unemployment numbers, despite the fact that the unemployment rate rose statewide.

Tennessee's unemployment rate rose to eight percent in April. That's up two-tenths of a percentage point from March, and it's higher than the national average at 7.5 percent.

Knox County has the lowest unemployment rate for major counties at 6.4 percent. That's also up from March.

Meanwhile, Scott County still has the state's highest unemployment rate topping out at 16.1 percent.
