Elijah Hood’s bridge to Alabama has officially been burned. (Elijah Hood/Vine)

Charlotte, N.C., five-star running back Elijah Hood gave his verbal commitment to Notre Dame on Apr. 28, seemingly ending his short yet frenzied recruitment. That hasn't stopped the nation's premier program, Alabama, from continuing to send Hood what look like hand-written notes plugging what it brings to the table. The nerve!
There are a few ways Hood could let Alabama (and only Alabama) know he was no longer interested in attending any university other than Notre Dame. Here's a novel approach: Tell Alabama.
Yet whether due to the Crimson Tide's incessant mailers, a very strong dedication to Notre Dame or still-lingering resentment over Alabama's 42-14 win over the Fighting Irish in January's BCS title game - or some combination of all three - Hood decided to make his feelings about Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide a little more public.
Hood made a Vine of himself flushing Alabama's recruiting letters down the toilet. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, flush 'em. (UPDATE: Hood has since deleted his original Vine, but that didn't stop USA TODAY Sports' Mike Foss from capturing it for posterity.)
