(WBIR-Knoxville) Good news for the thousands of drivers impacted by the Lyons View Pike project.
The Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) says the work should be done sooner than it originally anticipated.
Right now, Lyons View Pike is closed between Lakeshore Park on the west end and Colony Way on the east end for utility work.
KUB says that work is expected to be done by mid-September and the city's resurfacing work will follow immediately afterwards.
Weather permitting, the roadway will be open to traffic by the end of September. Originally, KUB expected the project do be done in November.
