(WBIR) The Tennessee Valley Fair is teaming up next week with Medic Regional Blood Center to boost blood donations in East Tennessee.

During Sept. 3-6, people can get one free admission to the Tennessee Valley Fair if they donate blood at one of Medic's Community Drives or Donor Centers. The Tennessee Valley Fair is Sept. 6-15.

Medic said it's in need of all blood types because blood shortages are common during summer months. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year-olds weighing 120 pounds or more can donate, but must have parental consent).
