A star-studded telethon raised more than $1.5 million for flood-ravaged Nashville and Middle Tennessee Thursday night.
Country music performers like Vince Gill and Keith Urban headlined the three-and-a-half-hour event at WSMV-TV that was simulcast on WBIR and other stations around the state.
The donations will go to three charitable organizations: The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and Second Harvest Food Bank.
Some callers to 10News reported having trouble getting through on the phone to make a donation. They included UT basketball player Stephen Pearl, who tried to call on behalf of the team, which had collected at least $500. Pearl was eventually able to get through and make the donation.
Thursday night's NBC programming, including Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, 30 Rock, and the Marriage Ref will air on WBIR-TV on Saturday from 8-11, in the usual order.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story indicated the usual programming will be available on 10.2. The programs will not air on 10.2 Thursday but will instead be seen Saturday on WBIR-TV.
