A Sevier County woman is charged with reckless endangerment and setting fire to personal property, for allegedly trying to set her baby on fire while the child was strapped into a car seat.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Henry Town Road in Sevierville around 8:44 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived they found a car seat that had been partially burned. A man at the home said his wife, Becky A. Eury, had set the car seat on fire with their 5-week old child strapped in it.
The child was at the home and was not injured.
Officers notified the Department of Children Services and they assisted in the investigation.
Eury, 29, was arrested at the scene. The Sevier County Sheriff's Office expects more charges to filed against her after the attorney general's office reviews the case. Her current charges may also be upgraded.
Eury is being held in the Sevier County Jail without bond pending a hearing before a judge.
The incident is still under investigation.
