A fire that broke out in a Nashville house where 13 people were sleeping has killed a teenage girl and injured her sister.
Firefighters told WSMV-TV the 15-year-old girl who was killed was sleeping in a second-floor bedroom. The floor had collapsed when firefighters arrived around 3 a.m. Thursday.
An 11-year-old girl and a firefighter were taken to a hospital -- the child with minor burns, the firefighter with a thumb injury.
Gloria Prieto, who told the station she is the mother of the child who was killed, says a space heater could have started the fire.
Prieto says her seven children and two visiting children were among those in the house when the fire began.
