A crash Tuesday night in Roane County has claimed the lives of a mother and her three children.
According to the THP Motor Vehicle Fatality Report, the accident happened at 6:18 Thursday on Highway 61 in Harriman.
A Ford Expedition driven by Stephanie Brown, 31, of Harriman was traveling west when it crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer truck driven by Joe Sexton, 57, of Harriman, head on. Both vehicles burst into flames.
Brown was killed, along with three boys in the SUV: Grason Brown, 9 months, Jackson Brown, 7, and Gage Brown, 9. All are from Harriman.
Roane County school administrators confirm Jackson Brown and Gage Brown attended Bowers Elementary School in Harriman. Grief counselors are on site and available to talk with students and staff.
Sexton was injured in the crash.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol have confirmed four people died in a crash along Highway 61 in Roane County.
According to officials, the accident took place just before 6:00 p.m. near Rockbridge Road in Harriman.
Troopers are currently on the scene and have both directions of Highway 61 closed. They don't expect to reopen it until later in the morning.
Officials said the accident involved a tractor trailer and an SUV.
No other information has been released at this time.
