At ClausFest Saturday, Santas parade through Gatlinburg
About 300 Santas traveled to Gatlinburg this weekend for ClausFest 2012. Its the largest Santa Claus festival in the Southeast, which kicked off Saturday with a parade.
At ClausFest, Santas also attend an idea-exchange workshop, attend an evening Snow Ball, and put on a Santa fashion show.
However, with Christmas still months away, most of the parade crowd wore green for St. Patrick's Day.
"We want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with all of Gatlinburg people," said one Santa who traveled from Texas.
He says he is excited to meet with other Santas and elves.
"I've got helpers everywhere and so I have to make sure all of them know what to do and how to do it," he said. "And so I talk to them and tell them what they need to do."
Some of the Santas are also collecting toys for tornado victims while they are in town.
