The University of Tennessee Athletic Department announced Wednesday Debby Jennings is retiring. Jennings has been the Lady Vols Media Relations Director for five years.

In 2009, Jennings was inducted into the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame. In 2008, CoSIDA presented her with the Arch Ward Awards, becoming just the second woman to ever win the honor.

Below is the release from Tennessee's Athletic Department:

University of Tennessee associate athletics director for media relations Debby Jennings has announced her retirement from the position. Jennings served as the media relations contact for the Lady Vol basketball program for 35 seasons.

Eric Trainer, who has spent the last 15 years at Tennessee, has assumed the role of the primary contact for the women's basketball program. He currently serves as the contact for the track and field and cross country program in addition to his work coordinating logistics for women's basketball home games.

"We would like to thank Debby for her service to the University of Tennessee," said Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Dave Hart. "She has been a part of our eight national championships in women's basketball, and we wish her well."
