The family of a man who was beaten to death outside a Roane County bar has filed a civil lawsuit in the case.
Last July, Eric Gallaher was arrested and charged with the murder of David Harvey of Harriman.
Investigators say Gallaher beat Harvey to death in the parking lot at the Grill and Pub in Harriman, then he left him in a grassy area near the bar.
Gallaher is named in the lawsuit, along with with three men who the suit says were with him that night: Derek Gallaher, Devin Lee Bertram, and Anderson Treavin Wright.
The suit also names Grover Norton, who was the owner of the bar. The suit claims that Norton failed to operate the bar in a way that "would not attract or provide a climate for crime such as was perpetrated on David Lee Harvey."
The family is seeking $750,000 in compensatory damages and $2,250,000 in punitive damages.
