Low-cost air carrier Frontier Airlines plans to adjust its schedule for flights between Knoxville and Denver, starting in December.
Frontier has fewer passengers during the cold weather months, according to a spokesperson for McGhee Tyson Airport, and they plan to adjust their schedule accordingly.
The airline will begin tapering its Denver flights this fall and stop them altogether on Dec. 9. Airport officials believe Frontier plans to resume those flights in the spring, when the demand rises again.
Frontier Airlines currently offers flights between Knoxville and Denver and Knoxville and Orlando, Fla. The Orlando flights will continue without disruption.
United Airlines will continue to offer a direct flight from Knoxville to Denver.
