MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The Memphis fire department says the bodies of an adult man and woman were found inside a home that caught fire near the Memphis International Airport.
The fire department said in a news release that heavy fire was visible at the wood-frame home on Cromwell Road when firefighters arrived on the scene around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The fire was brought under control about 30 minutes later and during a search, the bodies of two adults were found inside. The names of the victims have not been released pending identification and notification of family.
The Shelby County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death for the victims. Fire officials said there was no working smoke detector in the home and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
