Cocke county's E-911 director is out of a job, after the 911 board ousted her from the position.
Late last year, a Cocke County grand jury indicted Kathy Cody. She's charged with using her position as director to access the 911 database for personal use.
This week, the board unanimously voted to fire Cody.
The board chair, Sheriff Armondo Fontes, says the board, the public and agencies served by 911 had all lost confidence in Cody.
The Newport Police Chief says the process to fill the 911 director position is already underway.
The TBI says it arrested the Cocke County 911 director on Tuesday on one charge of official misconduct.
Kathy Cody, 48, of Newport, is accused of accessing the Tennessee Drivers' License database for personal use in September 2011.
Cody was booked into the Cocke County jail on $5,000 bond.
