Snow has all but cut off access to the highest guest lodge in the eastern U.S.

Built in the 1920s, LeConte Lodge sits more than 6,000 feet up and typically requires about a five hour hike, but the trails that lead to the lodge are blanketed in snow, with drifts close to four and five feet high.

We spoke to a manager on the mountain, who also took some gorgeous pictures, and she says this is as much snow as they've seen in a decade.
