Seymour woman killed in accident on Sevierville Pike

Update 9:16 pm:

A Seymour woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in South Knox County on Saturday afternoon.

According to a Knox County Sheriff's release, Terry Tomlinson, 54, was killed on impact in an accident that happened at 3:30 pm on 7822 Sevierville Pike.

Leslie Slingluff of Seymour was driving a white Chevy Silverado when she lost control, hit a tree and flipped over.

Rural Metro transported Slingluff to UT Medical Center.

Authorities believe speed and failure to maintain the right of way were factors in this crash.  

According to the release, chargers are pending against Slingluff.  

At the time of the accident, Slingluff was not wearing a seat belt, but Tomlinson was wearing her seat belt.

One person has died in a single vehicle crash in South Knox County.

KPD spokesperson Martha Dooley said officers are still on scene working to clear the accident on 7822 Sevierville Pike.

According to Dooley, a white Chevrolet pick-up truck lost control, hit a tree and flipped over.

Dooley said the body of the person killed in the accident is still trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency responders transported the woman, who was driving the truck, to UT Medical Center.
