A driver escaped injury after he fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the Fountain City Duck Pond Sunday morning.
A Knoxville Police Department spokesman says he woke up when the airbag deployed and swam to safety.
10News spoke to the wrecker who worked on the accident. He said the man was driving a green KIA SUV north on Broadway when it happened.
Police say the vehicle leaked some fuel. It is believed that some fish in the pond are dead because of it. Officials say KFD contained the leak and will return to clean it up.
Dispatchers say the accident happened around 8:00 a.m.
No charges have been filed.
