Thanksgiving morning before some families even took a bite of turkey, hundreds were up and running through Downtown Knoxville.
It was the 29th annual AutumnFest 8k at Worlds Fair Park.
Nearly 1,400 runners and walkers registered to hit the pavement for a little exercise.
There was the 8k, a nearly five mile run, and a two mile walk. Also, don't forget the "Little Gobbler Run" for the little ones.
For many families it is a tradition every Thanksgiving morning, and the Knoxville Track Club was glad hundreds chose to spend their Turkey Day working out.
"It's a really happy day. Everybody is in a good mood, it's the holidays," said Kristy Altman with the Knoxville Track Club, "People take time, more so than any other time of the year, to give thanks and feel blessed and grateful and that's how we feel. This year we have had a great year. We have had increased participation, which tells me that Knoxville is getting out and moving and that makes me excited that we are fulfilling our mission and vision."
Runners also brought in canned goods Thursday morning as they registered. All of that food will go to Second Harvest Food Bank.
