Months after the bus rolled away and taping ended, volunteers, sponsors and community members gathered to watch the Knoxville episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on national television.

Back in January, thousands of volunteers and crews from the show worked for a week straight to build Daniel and Mandy Watson their new home in West Knoxville. They're the co-founders of Restoration House, which provides guidance and assistance to single mothers in our area.

On Monday, the team that helped build the home got to see the finished product.

It was a big crowd at the Tennessee Theater. In those seats were a few of the more than 4,000 volunteers that helped, plus sponsors, and even the family themselves.

The audience watched a few behind-the-scenes videos before the episode aired.

We spoke to both volunteers and the Watson family about their excitement to finally see the show.

"Like the rest of the world, we didn't get to see the finished product, so what better way to celebrate it than with all the volunteers," said volunteers Jesse Katz and Myles Walker.

"You know, we weren't around during build, and so to get to be with all these friends and new friends, and getting to see the show together and celebrate everything that happened is going to be awesome," said Daniel and Mandy Watson.

The Watson family also wanted to thank everyone who volunteered to help on their home. They say there are plans to continue expanding Restoration House and the property.
