Firefighters say Tuesday's Texas Roadhouse fire in West Knoxville began just outside the front doors of the restaurant. Investigators say they're still looking into how it started.
The fire caused heavy smoke and water damage.
There is no time-table for when the restaurant will reopen.
Officials say a West Knoxville restaurant will probably be closed for a couple days after its outside was heavily damaged in a fire.
The fire occurred Tuesday morning at the Texas Roadhouse on Morrell Road near West Town Mall.
A Knoxville Police officer saw the flames and reported the fire around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
KFD Spokesman, D.J. Corcoran said, "Quick action on the officers part and quick response from the fire department definitely saved this and kept that fire from extending to other parts of the restaurant."
The building sustained heavy smoke and water damage inside according to Corcoran. Also, the outside and inside was burned near the lobby.
