Families with missing loved ones are invited to attend a DNA collection day this weekend.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office and Knoxville Police Department are encouraging family members of missing people to give DNA samples that might help in the case. Families can also bring items that might have the missing person's DNA, like a hairbrush or toothbrush.
The event is free, and a missing person's report is not required. The collection is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the East Knoxville police precinct inside Knoxville Center Mall.
