This time of year, we hear a lot about people giving back.

This season, a group Oak Ridge middle schoolers took the initiative to make Christmas wishes come true for those in need.

8th grade students at St. Mary's School created an angel tree to collect toys from across the area.  Those donations will go to Catholic Charities' Crazy Quilt Friendship Center in Jellico.

Wednesday, they packed up the presents, and traveled to Jellico to set up for the center's annual Christmas party.  There, hundreds of low-income children will get to meet Santa and get a new toy.

"I would really like to go up there and actually go on the day when they're giving out presents and just see the joy on the people's faces because they don't get as many presents and they don't have a lot," said student Madelyn Fahhoum.

The annual Christmas party and toy distribution is this Saturday from 1:00 to 3::00 pm in Jellico.
