Halls Holiday Extravaganza

Halls High School will host its annual Holiday Extravaganza on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Halls Middle School auditorium.

The performance is put on by the Fine Arts Department, which includes the drama, band, choral and arts programs.

Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops

Santa's Wonderland is open at Bass Pro Shops in Kodak.

The family-friendly section features games, activities, crafts and even a free photo with Santa through Dec. 24.

Photos with Santa are available from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Children can make a Santa ornament from free from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday - Friday, noon - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, through Dec. 23. On Christmas Eve, children can enjoy cookie decorating from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The games and activities are available from open to close. They include a laser arcade, slot car racing, remote control trucks and a wildlife carousel.

Gingerbread cookie decorating

The University of Tennessee Gardens will host a gingerbread cookie making class from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14.

Children ages 3 - 5 will learn how ginger root is used to create the cookie and will have the opportunity to decorate their own cookie.

Students will also get to decorate a gingerbread ornament.

The class cost is $8 for members and $12 for non-members. For more information, call (865) 974-7151.
