Bean Station's Mayor said Police Chief Phillip Robinette's tenure with the department ended on December 15.

In a news release, Mayor Terry D. Wolfe said an internal investigation has been initiated as a result of the arrest of the former Police Chief's son.

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Department arrested Nathaniel Robinette for criminal impersonation, false imprisonment and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The Mayor's release said the Hawkins County Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest.  Bean Station's Police Department is also conducting an internal investigation.

Mayor Wolfe said the findings will be turned over to District Attorney Jimmy Dunn and that no other information will be released at this time.

Sergeant Bryce Justice will serve as interim Police Chief.
