22-year-old Daniel Lundy has been identified as the victim of a fatal overnight crash in East Knoxville, KPD has confirmed.
Officers say it appears Lundy was driving a Lincoln east in the westbound lane of Delrose. A Dodge Ram topped a hill and crashed into Lundy head-on.
The driver of the Ram, 51-year-old Jeffery Snyder, was transported to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Knoxville Police confirmed one person died after a head-on collision in East Knoxville.
The accident happened near the intersection of Delrose Avenue and Riverside Road shortly before 5:45 a.m.
According to a KPD press release, one driver suffered fatal injuries and died on the way to the UT Medical Center. Officers said the other driver had non-life threatening injuries, and crews transported that person to UT Medical Center as well.
KPD dispatch said a white Dodge Ram and another vehicle ran into one another, and one of those vehicles ran into an embankment.
Officers said they're still investigating the cause of that crash, and aren't releasing names at this time.
