On Monday afternoon, Knoxville firefighters identified a body discovered in a weekend fire in East Knoxville.
Investigators believe India Gourley, 28, broke into a vacant convenience store before it caught fire shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday. During a secondary search of the vacant building, located on Martin Luther King Junior Avenue, firefighters discovered Gourley's body.
Authorities determined that the fire was set, more than likely by Gourley, after he broke into the building.
The building was the site of the Bi-Lo Market, which the city shutdown this past summer. The former store has been boarded up with "No Trespassing" signs ever since.
